Responsible Driving Campaign 2026
Employees from AG Wilson recently attended the Road Safe Roadshow, an impactful programme delivered by Business in the Community Northern Ireland in partnership with the Police Service of Northern Ireland and local emergency services. The event forms part of the Responsible Driving Campaign, which aims to place a human perspective on road safety by sharing real experiences from those who have witnessed the devastating consequences of dangerous driving.
This year marks AG Wilson’s second year as a corporate partner of the Responsible Driving Campaign, reflecting our continued commitment to promoting safe behaviours and protecting the wellbeing of our people and the wider community.
A Hard-Hitting Look at Real-Life Consequences
Attendees were shown realistic reconstructions of fatal collisions alongside firsthand accounts from emergency responders, a driver responsible for a fatal crash, and a survivor left permanently in a wheelchair. These powerful stories highlighted the profound and lasting impact that serious road traffic collisions can have on individuals, families and communities, and how a single unsafe decision can have irreversible consequences.
The Fatal Five
The roadshow also focused on the Fatal Five behaviours, which are responsible for the majority of serious collisions and road deaths:
- Drink or drug driving
- Using a mobile phone while driving
- Not wearing a seatbelt
- Speeding
- Careless driving
AG Wilson supports raising awareness of these critical issues and encourages all road users to reflect on their own driving habits, recognising that preventing collisions is a shared responsibility.
Our Commitment to Safer Roads
AG Wilson is proud to support the Responsible Driving Campaign and remains committed to playing an active role in promoting safer roads. By continuing our partnership for a second year, we are reinforcing the importance we place on safety leadership, responsible behaviour and wellbeing, both within our business and beyond the workplace.
As a practical takeaway from the roadshow, we encourage all employees to adopt the Fatal Five as personal driving standards and to model safe, responsible behaviours every time they get behind the wheel. By learning from the experiences shared and making conscious choices, we can all help reduce preventable tragedies on our roads.
